icejam, a Charlottetwon, Prince Edward Island, Canada-based mobile games company, raised CDN$3m in seed funding.
The round was led by Build Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Patrick Keefe, general partner of Build Ventures, joined icejam’s Board of Directors.
The company, which has now raised $3.5m in total, intends to use the funds for future growth, continue development of its proprietary new Playable Data™ Platform and prepare its first game for market introduction.
Led by Stuart Duncan, Founder & CEO, a former EA studio director, and Wayne Seifried, CMO, icejam has developed the Playable Data™ Platform, which integrates real-time, real-world data streams into the mobile game to enhance gameplay, increase engagement and retention. The platform will be the backbone for the company’s games, the first of which is scheduled for release later this year.
