Groopify, a Madrid, Spain-based social club that allows people to meet in real life based on interests and affinities, raised €800k in funding.
Backers included Media Digital Ventures, Pinama Inversiones and business angel José María Torroja, Enisa and Ivace.
The company intends to use the funds to consolidate its presence in Spain, expand abroad and continue to grow the mobile platform.
Led by Pablo Viguera, Co-Founder & CEO, Alejandro Coca, Co-Founder, Biz Dev & Sales Manager, and Miguel García-Santesmases, Co-Founder & CIO, Groopify operates an offline social club that organizes experiences between groups of friends at such venues as bars, restaurants, discos, etc. The app is available in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Málaga, Granada, Zaragoza, Salamanca, Alicante, Murcia, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca and 35 other cities across Spain.
