ChatWork, an Osaka, Japan-based provider of a business chat platform, secured $12.5m in Series B funding.
Backers included JAFCO Co. Ltd. and others.
The company intends to use the funds to further enhance the product and expand the use of the platform in the U.S., Europe and Latin America.
Founded in 2011 by CEO Toshi Yamamoto, ChatWork provides a group chat app that allows coworkers and outside clients, freelancers and business partners to communicate, collaborate and increase productivity.
The platform, available in five languages, includes secure messaging, video chat, task management and file sharing functionality. It is used by over 86,000 companies across 204 countries and regions.
