CarGlass, a San Francisco, CA-based technology company dedicated to connecting drivers to content and information safely, raised $3M in funding.
Backers included Byron Asset Management, Morning Crest Capital and two other family offices investing in the digital media and connected car spaces.
The company intends to use the funds for new hires, product development and US expansion.
Founded in 2014 by CEO Stanley Yuan, CarGlass provides Otto Radio, which provides personalized playlists of news and podcasts based on user’s interests and length of commute. The company has also launched TryPod™, a new podcast sampling feature that aims to enhance user’s ability to discover more podcasts in less time.
Initially launched on October 5, 2015, Otto Radio has already served up almost 400,000 news stories and podcasts. It is currently available for free on iOS with an Android version of the app is scheduled for release in Q2 2016.
