Streamroot, Inc., a Boston, MA-based provider of smart video streaming solutions, raised $2.1m in equity funding.
According to a regulatory filing with the S.E.C., a total of 53 investors participated in offering.
Led by Nikolay Rodionov, Pierre Louis Théron and Axel Delmas, Streamroot offers a peer-accelerated streaming solution combining unicast delivery and P2P protocols to offloads demand from servers by connecting viewers watching streams simultaneously.
Streamroot is plugin-free for viewers and integrates into broadcasters’ workflows. It is available for both live streams and video on-demand platforms, and is compatible with a variety of media servers, video players and streaming formats.
The company also has offices in Paris, France, where it was founded in 2013, and NYC.
