Avecto, a Manchester, UK-based endpoint security software firm, received a $49m (£32m) minority investment from JMI Equity.
As part of the transaction, Jit Sinha, General Partner, and Suken Vakil, Principal, at JMI Equity, will join the Board of Directors.
The company will use the funds to contineu to expand its operations worldwide.
Founded by Mark Austin and Paul Kenyon in 2008, Avecto provides a security suite that protects computers and servers from malware and cyberattacks at the endpoint, by controlling and removing administrator rights (Privilege Management), dynamically allowing approved applications to run (Application Control), and isolating threats (Sandboxing).
The company, which also has offices in Boston, USA, Melbourne, Australia and Frankfurt, Germany, serves over 600 enterprise clients.
