Tenable Network Security Raises $250M in Series B Funding

Tenable_Web_LogoTenable Network Security, Inc., a Columbia, MD-based global provider of cyber security software, raised $250m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Insight Venture Partners and Accel.

The investment, which is subject to customary closing adjustments, marks one of the largest fundraising rounds completed for a private security company, is expected to accelerate Tenable’s long-term global growth.
The company, which has raised $300m in capital to-date, has entities in 10 countries and aims to continue to invest in international expansion with immediate plans to expand into China, Mexico, Ireland, Sweden, United Arab Emirates and India.

Led by Ron Gula, CEO, Tenable provides SecurityCenter Continuous View™ (SecurityCenter CV™), which features an integrated view of network health, and Nessus®, which allows users to detect and assess network data. The company’s solutions use analytics to allow organizations a real-time view of their entire network—on-premises, virtual, cloud and mobile and other connected devices.
Tenable has more than one million users and almost 20,000 customers such as Deloitte, Visa, BMW, Adidas and Microsoft.
