17 Media Raises $10M in Series A Funding

17 Media LLC, a photo sharing and live video streaming app provider, raised $10m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Infinity Venture Partners and Prometheus Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Akio Tanaka, managing partner of Infinity Venture Partners and Wang Sicong, chairman of Prometheus Capital, joined 17 Media’s board.

The company intends to use the funds for platform upgrade and international expansion.

Co-founded by rapper-turned-serial-entrepreneur Jeff Huang and serial hit app creator, Popo Chen, 17 Media provides 17 App, a photo sharing and live video streaming app enabling entertainers, celebrities, and influencers around the world to control their own content and audiences, while also earning revenue for generating online views. The app has had over six million downloads topping charts in the U.S., China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Macau, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The company has a team of 10.
