MedZed, LLC, an Atlanta, GA-based provider of a telemedicine house call platform, raised $3.2m in funding.
The backers remained undisclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop its platform.
Led by Scott Schnell, co-founder and chief executive officer, and Neil A. Solomon, MD Co-founder, Chief Strategist & Chief Medical Officer, MedZed uses a combination of in-home caregivers and technology to connect high-risk patients to their medical team. Using telemedicine communications, proprietary technology and remote medical devices, the caregiver assists physicians with real-time examinations and treatments.
The company began conducting home-based care in Atlanta in 2014 and expanded to New York this past summer. During the fourth quarter of 2015, MedZed is launching a program with a large healthcare delivery system in Southern California.
