Marc Ladreit de Lacharriere Invests in Warburg Pincus

Marc Ladreit de Lacharriere, one of Europe’s preeminent business leaders, has become a Senior Strategic Partner with New York-based global private equity firm Warburg Pincus.

Groupe Marc de Lacharriere (GML), the family holding company of Marc Ladreit de Lacharriere, has made an investment resulting in a 5% stake in the private equity firm. In addition to an investment in the firm, Marc de Lacharriere will invest in future funds as a limited partner.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Warburg Pincus will use all of the proceeds to invest in its funds.

Led by Co-CEOs Charles R. Kaye and Joseph P. Landy, and President Timothy F. Geithner, Warburg Pincus has more than $35 billion in assets under management and a portfolio of more than 120 companies.
Founded in 1966, the firm has raised 14 private equity funds, which have invested more than $50 billion in over 720 companies in more than 35 countries.
It has offices in Amsterdam, Beijing, Hong Kong, London, Luxembourg, Mumbai, Mauritius, San Francisco, Sao Paulo and Shanghai.
