Growth equity firm Spectrum Equity made the investment.
The company intends to use the funds for international expansion, a new focus on training and education, and accelerate engineering and sales hiring.
Founded in London, UK, by Paul Farnell (CEO), Matthew Brindley (CTO), and David Smalley (Managing Director, International), Litmus provides a web-based email creation, testing and analytics platform to more than 250,000 marketers, designers and agencies.
The platform provides instant email previews and quality assurance tools across all major inbox providers, browsers, and devices, and features analytics to allow users to build, test and optimize campaigns.
The company announced a major update to its product in October 2015. The redesign added a new feature called instant previews, a new interactive checklist tool to eliminate common problems like broken links and missing images.
