Icon Ventures, a Palo Alto, CA-based technology venture capital firm, appointed Michael Mullany as a general partner.
Earlier this year, Mullany was named a venture partner. He will continue to assist the Icon portfolio with his product and marketing expertise, while working with the Icon team to invest in new companies with great promise.
Mullany initially joined Icon Ventures in 2014, bringing over 17 years of executive experience in senior product and marketing roles. Before joining Icon, he was the CEO of Sencha, an Icon investment and a provider of open-source web application frameworks and tools for developers and the enterprise.
Previously, Mullany held senior product and executive marketing roles at Silicon Valley startups such as Netscape, Loudcloud and VMware. At VMware he served as vice president of worldwide marketing and product during the company’s break-out into server computing.
Led by general partners Tom Mawhinney, Jeb Miller, and with Joe Horowitz, Icon Ventures is a specialty venture capital firm focused on leading Series B or C financings and with over $780m under management.
