Draper James Raises $10M in Series B Funding

Reese-WitherspoonDraper James, a Southern-inspired retail brand, raised $10m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Forerunner Ventures with participation from Stone Canyon Industries and existing investor JH Partners. In addition to the funding, Kirsten Green, a founder and managing director of Forerunner Ventures, joined Draper James’ board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and introduce its Southern brand to a wider audience.

Launched a few months ago by Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon, who is Co-Founder and Creative Director, and Seth Rodsky, Draper James is a Southern inspired retail brand featuring designed in-house collections of accessories, and home decor. A large portion of the product is manufactured in the US, specifically in the South. The first retail store will open later this month in Nashville, with presence to be expanded to other Southern markets and a wholesale and licensing roll-out starting in 2016.
