VillFarm, a Bangalore, India-based sustainable agri-inputs firm, raised a funding round of undisclosed amount.
Backers included Unitus Seed Fund, Rianta Capital, angel investor R Ramaraj, founder of Sify and a group of non-resident impact and angel investors represented by Sunil Edwards.
The company will use the new funds to continue to build its product lines and to expand distribution across South India.
Led by Sundarraj Mahadevan, CEO, and Jagadeesh Sunkad, CTO, VillFarm Agrisolutions Private Limited offers a product line of organic agri-inputs addressing the market of sustainable agriculture products in India. These products cover categories such land preparation, seed treatment, basal application, active growth flowering and fruiting, pest management and adjuvants to India’s farmers.
The company has just launched a new proprietary water-saving product called Water Bank.
