Sun Basket, a San Francisco, CA-based healthy cooking service, raised $4.5m in venture capital funding.
The round was led by PivotNorth Capital and Baseline Ventures, with participation from Paul Allen’s Vulcan Capital, Roth Capital, The Florence Group, Rembrandt Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Relevance Capital, Lucas Venture Group, and other venture capital firms and angel investors.
Currently available in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Arizona and Nevada, the company plans to expand to additional markets in 2016.
Led by CEO and founder Adam Zbar and newly appointed COO and CFO Don Barnett, Sun Basket is a healthy cooking service, which delivers organic ingredients and recipes weekly to home. Personalized for members’ lifestyle and diet, Sun Basket provides a seasonally inspired Chef’s Basket, along with Gluten-Free, Paleo and Vegetarian meal options.
