oneEvent Technologies Closes $1.8M First Funding Round

oneEvent Technologies, a Mount Horeb, Wis.-based provider of a proprietary life safety and home & business automation system, closed a $1.8m first round of funding.

Backers remained undisclosed.

The company intends to use the funds to scale pilots with insurance carriers and commercial partners.

Led by Co-Founder and CEO Kurt Wedig and and Co-Founder and Vice President of Engineering Dan Parent, oneEvent provides an IoT solution that works with life safety, security and home automation systems — including Nest, Canary, WeMo, SmartThings and ADT — to maximize safety, comfort and convenience in a home or business.
It monitors temperature, humidity, motion and other variable factors, sending a constant stream of real-time data into the cloud (accessible from a smartphone, tablet or computer) and alerts property owners when conditions endanger their home, business, property and lives.

The system is currently installed in select commercial sites, hotels and homes.
