Farmigo, a Brooklyn, NY-based online farmers market, raised $16m in Series B funding.
The round was led by new investor Formation 8 Partners with participation from existing investors Benchmark Capital and Sherbrooke Capital.
The company, which has raised a total of $26m, intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expansion in new markets.
Founded in 2012 by CEO Benzi Ronen, Farmigo is an online farmers market that provides farm-to-neighborhood access to fresh food, benefiting local farmers and bypassing supermarkets.
The company, which has built a technology platform to connect consumers directly to made-to-order local farm-fresh food, currently operates in New York, New Jersey and Northern California, and is launching in Seattle-Tacoma on October 14, 2015.
The market currently serves more than 15,000 families each month in more than 350 neighborhoods working with more than 150 producers.
