FanDuel Inc., a New York City-based one-day fantasy sports operator, acquired fantasy eSports platform AlphaDraft.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Following a $275m Series E venture capital round in July 2015, the company has been acquiring a company a month: numberFire in (the same month), Kotikan in August, and now AlphaDraft.
FanDuel will leverage the partnership to have a product for the eSports community and expand core product offerings in order to further reach new sports fans while maximizing engagement.
Led by Todd Peterson, CEO, AlphaDraft operates a daily fantasy sports platform that blends eSports, live streaming and fantasy sports contests. Investors in the company include former NBA Commissioner David Stern, Melo7 Tech Partners, Metamorphic Ventures, WME, Upfront Ventures, IDG Ventures, Greycroft Partners, Freestyle Capital, KEC, Amplify.LA and others.
