Din (formerly called Forage), a San Mateo, California-based recipe subscription service, raised $3m in seed funding.
Backers included Accel Partners, Collaborative Fund, Built By Girls Fund, Harrison Metal, Slow Ventures and Lowercase Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations.
Founded by Emily Olson LaFave and Rob LaFave, Din partners with restaurants and chefs to deliver ingredients people need to recreate their dishes at home. Din’s team, led by Stephen Beaumier, prepares and delivers ingredients in an insulated, reusable tote in order to let people finish the dish in under 20 minutes.
This week, Din launches courier deliveries in Los Angeles, expanding their courier deliveries beyond the San Francisco market.
