Cool Planet, a Greenwood Village, Colo.-based renewable energy and ag technology company, closed an additional financing round of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by existing investors Northbridge Venture Partners and Yung’s Enterprise.
The company intends to use the funds to further advance its biocarbon technology and provide growth capital to develop the market.
Led by CEO Howard Janzen, Cool Planet is commercializing technology to create green fuels and biocarbon. Its CoolTerra™ product increases crop productivity and promotes plant health while reducing fertilizer and water requirements.
The company, whose technology has a broad portfolio of pending and granted patents, also added James Loar to lead Cool Planet’s biocarbon business. Loar will be responsible for leading a team to further develop the market and sales of CoolTerra.
