Comfy, an Austin, Texas-based student rental marketplace and developer of an app allowing roommates to split bills and other living expenses, secured $1.25m of Series A funding.
The round was led by ATX Seed Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its team and enhance the Unbill product.
Led by CEO Jordan Wright, Comfy is a student rental marketplace that lets students find their ideal housing situation from any online device matching them with landlords and property managers within hours. In March, the company launched the Unbill app, which automates almost all bill pay for roommates and individuals, from utilities to cell phone bills to rent. It is available for Android and iOS.
Comfy also announced a strategic partnership with Conservice, a large utility management provider and an investor in the company.
