City Dining Cards Raises $1.5M in Venture Capital

City Dining Cards, a Buffalo-based customer-loyalty technology company, raised $1.5m in venture capital.

Backers included Rand Capital Corporation (NASDAQ:RAND) which invested $500k, and SCP Buffalo Incubator Innovate NY Fund LP, Buffalo’s first internet-focused technology incubator.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the merchant network to new markets across the US and Canada; invest in the technology platform; roll out new features in the City Dining Cards app; and pursue additional enterprise opportunities.

Founded in 2011 by Patrick Finan and Marilyn Roach, City Dining Cards operates a platform that allows consumers to discover locally-owned restaurants and other businesses in their neighborhood, save money and earn rewards. From the merchant’s perspective, the product enables small, locally-owned businesses to reach new customers and keep them coming back.
It is present in 20 different markets throughout the US and Canada.
The app is available to download and use for free from the App Store.
