Area360 Closes $3.5M Series A Financing

area360Area360, a Seattle, WA-based creator of a mobile location technology platform, closed a $3.5m Series A round of financing.

The round was led by Madrona Venture Group.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow the business in the U.S. and internationally.

Led by Chris Smith, founder and CEO, Area360 creator of a mobile location technology platform for large and frequently visited locations such as airports, hospitals and museums that want to enhance the way their customers discover, connect and engage with what’s around them. The platform allows any organization to create experiences based on accurate location data, leveraging the power of beacons, GPS, WiFi, etc.

The company has more than 400 customers including airlines like Emirates, airports like Denver and Seattle-Tacoma International and museums like the Smithsonian and The Walt Disney Family Museum.

Area360 also has business and development centers in Wellington, New Zealand.
