Adjunct Professor Link Closes First Tranche of Seed Funding

aplAdjunct Professor Link, Inc. (APL), a Valparaiso, IN-based Faculty HR System (FHRS) for higher education, closed the first tranche of a $1m seed round of funding.

The tranche was led by Elevate Ventures, which provided $125k via the Indiana Diversity Investment Fund, a program dedicated to supporting and investing in innovative women, minority and veteran owned businesses with high growth potential in Indiana, with participation from angel investors from Indiana, Chicago and Silicon Valley.

The company intends to use the capital to fund revenue growth initiatives, technology development and marketing related expenses to expand into three additional geographic regions.

Founded in 2014 and led by CEO Kathleen Gibson and interim CFO Kurt Knipp, APL addresses the need for quality instructors in higher education institutions via a suite of resources for the department chairs and program directors who hire adjuncts, allowing them more time for teaching, mentoring, and advising students, managing departments/programs and researching and publishing.
