Spoken Communications Closes $28.8M in Series D Financing

spokenSpoken Communications, a Seattle, WA-based provider of a cloud-based Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS) platform, closed $28.8m in Series D financing.

The round was led by Menlo Park-based Riverwood Capital, a private equity firm that invests in high-growth technology companies, with participation from Seattle-based Ignition Partners.

The company, which has now raised $54m in total funding, intends to use the funds to grow its global marketing and sales capabilities.

Founded in 2005 and led by Howard Lee, CEO, Spoken provides a platform that enables organizations to scale their customer care services into the cloud. The company’s solution, which includes virtual desktop, audio and video capture, and Interactive Voice Response in additional to a virtualized voice stack, already supports over 40 million contact center minutes per month.
