section.io, a Sidney, Australia-based service for developers to deploy website caching in the cloud, has launched with funding from the Australian Government’s Commercialization Australia program.
The amount of the funding was not disclosed.
Founded by Stewart McGrath (ex; Graysonline, Microsoft, Ernst & Young) & Daniel Bartholomew (ex; Graysonline, Readify), section.io provides developers with a platform to set up the open source HTTP acceleration proxy varnish cache for web applications. It features SSL, metrics, logs, and alerting.
It released its first open beta in May 2015 and, to date, more than 200 developers have signed up from USA, Asia, Europe and Australia.
