RedMart Secures $26.7M in Funding

redmartRedMart, a Singapore-based online grocer and marketplace, secured $26.7m in funding.

Backers included Garena, SoftBank Ventures Korea, Visionnaire Ventures, Eduardo Saverin and Far East Ventures.

Launched in October 2011 by Roger Egan, Vikram Rupani and Rajesh Lingappa, RedMart is an online grocer and marketplace for groceries, household essentials and related products.

The company, which has now raised USD 54.0m in total funding, will be raising a larger Series C round later this year to fund international expansion, grow its grocery and marketplace business, launch its On Demand Marketplace, and invest in its dry and fresh private label offering.
Additionally, RedMart has named Colin Bryar as chief operating officer.
Previously a Vice President at Amazon, Bryar will be responsible for the commercial, operations, engineering, and marketing efforts at the company.
Vikram Rupani, currently COO and CFO, will take the role of President.
