Mirantis Raises $100M in Funding

mirantisMirantis, a Mountain View, CA-based OpenStack company, raised $100m in funding.

The round, includes a combination of equity and spending, was led by Intel Capital with participation from new investor Goldman Sachs and existing investors August Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Ericsson, Sapphire Ventures (formerly SAP Ventures) and WestSummit Capital.

The company also announced a strategic technology and investment collaboration with Intel, which will focus on accelerating enterprise feature optimization in Mirantis’ OpenStack distribution and enterprise adoption.

Led by Alex Freedland, co-founder and president, Mirantis delivers all the software, services, training, and support needed for running OpenStack. The company is among the top three companies worldwide in contributing open source software to OpenStack, and has helped build and deploy some of the largest OpenStack clouds in the world, at companies such as Cisco, Comcast, Ericsson, NASA, Samsung and Symantec.

The company also has offices in Amsterdam, Austin, Grenoble, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
