Eko Communications Completes US$5.7M Series A Financing

ekoEko Communications, a New York and Bangkok, Thai-based developer of a communication platform that leverages mobile in the workplace, completed a US$5.7m Series A financing round.

The round was led by Asia-based venture capital firm Gobi Partners with participation from previous investors.

The company will use the funds to expand its business into key markets, enhance marketing efforts and add new talent.

Founded in March 2012 and led by Korawad Chearavanont, Founder and CEO; David Zhang, CTO; and Bernie Tay, COO and CMO, Eko Communications develops mobile enterprise tools for companies to allow employees, managers and executives to improve office communications and productivity.
The platform – specifically designed for workplace communications – combines email with mobile messaging. Messages can be arranged by topic, thread or group while search features and cross-device synchronization ensures that messages are readily retrievable and never go missing.
Each employee is automatically added to a company-wide directory, which allows users to learn more about their colleagues, including title, function, status and more.
Other app features include enterprise-grade encryption and security, a broadcast system to send out mass messages to specific groups and an in-chat peer-to-peer recognition system that allows employees to reward colleagues for their efforts.
Eko’s offerings are also customizable, allowing employers the option to use their own color schemes, logos, icons and added features in the app interface.
