Apiary, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of an application programming interface (API) development platform, completed a $6.8m Series A round of funding.
The round was led by Flybridge with participation from Baseline Ventures and Credo Ventures.
The company, which had previously raised $1.6m, intends to use the funds to continue to grow its team and develop new features that support the needs of enterprise API design.
Founded in 2011 by Jakub Nesetril, CEO, Apiary provides an API development platform featuring tools for every stage of the API lifecycle: designing, prototyping, testing, and documentation. It is used by Microsoft, Salesforce, Akamai, L.L. Bean, and hundreds of other businesses to provide a workflow and platform for developing reliable APIs.
The company currently supports more than 160,000 APIs.
In conjunction with the funding, Apiary also launched a new API testing service that enables developers to continuously verify local API code changes alongside production implementation, streamlining the API testing process.
