Zimplistic Closes $11.5M Series B Funding

Zimplistic, a Singapore and Mountain View, California-based kitchen robotics company, closed an $11.5m Series B funding.

Backers included NSI Ventures and Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH. In conjunction with the funding, Hian Goh of NSI Ventures and Jan Westerhues of RBVC joined Zimplistic’s board of directors.

The company will use the funds to accelerate manufacturing rollout, fund working capital and set up operations in international markets.

Founded in 2008 by Pranoti Nagarkar and led by Rishi Israni, CEO, Zimplistic provides Rotimatic, an automatic flatbread maker, producing fresh hot homemade flatbreads. The product uses patented AI technology to real-time measure and mix the correct ratio of flour and water based on dynamic variables to make one roti (low-calorie, low GI, whole-wheat unleavened flatbreads that originated in India) per minute. Rotimatic can also be used for wraps, quesadillas and other dishes to provide a fiber-rich addition to users’ diets.
