Whoosnap Raises €400K in Funding

whoosnapWhoosnap, a Rome, Italy-based developer of a mobile app that allows people to become photoreporters, raised €400k in funding.

Backers included Club degli Investitori of Turin, which injected €150k in partenership with Euroventures, LVenture Group (MTA Borsa Italiana: LVEN), which committed €100k, and other unnmaed business angels.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the platform.

Led by founder and CEO Enrico Scianaro, Whoosnap is developing a crowdsourcing platform that allows users to ask for photos in real time, enter a description and define money rewards. The notification then reaches geolocalized people, who have the opportunity to take the picture. The applier can choose and buy images and transfer the reward to the author.
The company plans to launch the iOS e Android versions of the app within July.

It was part of the 5th batch of Rome-based LUISS ENLABS.
