Sensity Systems Closes $36M Funding Round

Sensity_logoSensity Systems Inc., a Sunnyvale, CA-based developer of Light Sensory Networks (LSNs), closed a $36m private funding round.

The round was led by Cisco Investments with participation from Acuity Brands, GE Ventures and Simon Venture Group (corporate investment arm of Simon Property Group).

The company, which has now raised a total of $74m since its inception, intends to use the funds to expand its cloud-based NetSense LSN platform and IoT applications ecosystem and increase sales efforts.

Led by Hugh Martin, chairman and CEO, Sensity develops high-speed, sensor-based Light Sensory Networks (LSNs) that enable light owners to embed networking technology within both retrofit and new LED luminaires, reduce energy costs and implement a variety of applications and services, including public safety, environmental and weather monitoring, parking management and location analytics.
