HopSkipDrive Raises $3.9M Seed Funding

HSJ_logoHopSkipDrive, a Los Angeles, CA-based family-focused transportation company, raised a $3.9m seed funding.

The round was led by Upfront Ventures with participation from FirstMark Capital, Maveron, BBG Ventures, angel investor Joanne Wilson and others.

The company intends to use the funds to scale operations, further establish its presence in Southern California and expand to new markets.

Led by Joanna McFarland, chief executive officer, HopSkipDrive is a ride service for kids that allows families to schedule rides in advance, as well as view their CareDriver’s picture and bio prior to the ride.
Launched in late March 2015, the company has already delivered thousands of rides to date all over Los Angeles and has more than 100 CareDrivers (parents, nannies, teachers, nurses and other caregivers with a minimum of five years of childcare experience, almost all of which are women) on the platform.
