HackerRank Receives Investment from Recruit Holdings

HackerRank, a Mountain View, California-based technical recruitment platform and code challenge community, received an investment of $7.5M undisclosed amount from Recruit Holdings.

The investment is the second in the US for Recruit HR Technology Fund, which was launched in January 2015 by president Chihiro Ueda and made its first US investment in All4Staff in March. It has an initial capitalization of approximately $20 million and invests in companies from seed rounds to pre-IPO.

Owned by Interviewstreet and led by Vivak Ravisankar, CEO, HackerRank has two primary businesses. First, it operates an online engineering community. Coders come to the site, test their skills, and are ranked among peers. Second, HackerRank offers a number of services for HR professionals looking to locate technology talent. They currently have more than 1000 technology clients.

Founded in 1960, Recruit Holdings is a information services and human resources company in Japan focused on a variety of areas, including employment, education, housing, marriage, travel, restaurants, beauty, cars, hobbies, and lifestyle. It has more than 30,000 employees and operates in Asia and North America. Its holdings include job site Indeed.
