PowWow Energy Raises £3M in Funding

PowWow-logoPowWow Energy, a California-based new startup providing SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions for increasing water use efficiency, raised £3m in funding.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) awarded $2.3m while Family Offices in California and Colorado provided $700k in angel funding.

The company intends to use the funds for the large-scale implementation of its second product, Irrigation Advisor™, on five Central Valley farms spanning more than 1,600 acres as well as growth of its first SaaS product, Pump Monitor, with smart leak detection, during the drought.

Led by CEO Olivier Jerphagnon, PowWow leverages Big Data and emerging Internet of Things technologies to provide farmers in the field with Irrigation Advisor, a full irrigation management solution, and Pump Monitor with smart leak detection™, a SaaS application that identifies abnormal pumping events that threaten the good operation of the farm, including falling water table and leaks in irrigation pipes.
