Looklist, a Denver, CO-based curated engine for fashion and hairstyles, secured $174k in seed funding.
Boulder-based Foundry Group through its AngelList Syndicate made the investment.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its design, development and community management teams, to develop new features aimed at creating collaboration opportunities between users and stylists, and to build iOS app versions of its search platform.
Led by Founder and CEO Shaz Sedighzadeh, Looklist delivers an image discovery experience that leverages a proprietary weighting algorithm, combined with a thorough tagging and filtering system and moderation of content for consumers and stylists to find, filter, and share fashion and hair inspiration.
In addition to its current feature set that allows users to filter through curated style images, save them to collections and share them via social media, the company is developing a note taking feature that will allow users to collaborate with their friends and stylists on a set of images. It also plans to make three additional new hires and is working with clothing boutiques and hair salons to test in-store touchscreen kiosks in their lobbies.
