Cockroach Labs, a New York, NY-based open-source database startup, raised $6.25m in seed funding.
Backers included Benchmark, Google Ventures and Sequoia Capital.
The company is using the funds to continue to develop the platform and expand operations.
Co-founded in 2015 by Spencer Kimball, Peter Mattis and Ben Darnell, Cockroach Labs provides open source infrastructure solution that allows developers to build scalable applications that can survive datacenter-scale outages and to focus on what matters.
It is currently in beta.
