Yonder (operated by Green Mountain Digital LLC), a Woodstock, VT-based outdoor recreation mobile app and platform, closed $2m seed funding.
The round was led by Vermont Seed Capital Fund, Monster Worldwide and angel investors.
The company, which is also raising an additional $1m, intends to use the funds to expand the platform’s infrastructure maintain innovation of its Android and iOS products, integrate technology that will accelerate the deployment of partner brands into the product and improve the infrastructure for monetization.
Launched in 2013 by David Tyler, Yonder is a mobile platform for outdoor enthusiasts to connect and share adventures around the world. With a large database of user-generated multimedia for the outdoor and adventure travel industries, the company’s platform is already reaching in excess of 1 million users by powering interactive Web experiences for brands and organizations including the National Forest Foundation, The North Face, Burton, Xanterra, etc.
