YCharts, a Chicago and NYC-based provider of financial research solutions and tools, closed an approx. $6m Series C venture funding round.
The round was led by Morningstar with participation from Reed Elsevier, I2A, Amicus Capital Partners, Hyde Park Angels and other individuals.
The company, which has raised $14.5m in total, intends to use the funds to accelerate growth of its sales team.
Led by Shawn Carpenter, co-founder and CEO, Ara Anjargolian, co-founder and CTO, and newly appointed chief revenue officer Jeremy Diamond, YCharts provides a financial research platform, which now offers analytics across asset classes including more than 20,000 equities, 2,500 ETFs, 40,000 mutual funds and 400,000 economic indicators.
It is used by registered investment advisors (RIAs), wealth managers, portfolio managers, hedge funds, venture capital firms, and private equity funds.
The company has also formed strategic relationships with Schwab, TD Ameritrade, Commonwealth, Dynasty and others to make the platform available to thousands of investment advisors.
