Windward Receives $10.8M in Funding

Windward, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based maritime data and analytics company, received $10.8m in funding.

The round was led by Horizons Ventures, with participation from Series A investor Aleph, with participation from Tom Glocer, the former CEO of Thomson Reuters, and other backers in the financial community.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its deep learning capabilities via its data platform – the Windward Mind – and to operationalize FORESEA, its finance solution.

Led by Ami Daniel, co-Founder and CEO, and newly appointed Danielle Ullner, Chief Operating Officer, Windward provides an intelligence solution, MARINT, which is already in use by Security, Intelligence and Law Enforcement agencies worldwide to identify threats before they reach their shores.

FORESEA is in beta testing to provide traders, investors and analysts with access to amounts of unstructured data, insights and market opportunities.
