Pinterest Raises $186M in Series G Funding

logo-pinterestAccording to Re/Code, Pinterest, a San Francisco, CA-based visual bookmarking platform, raised an additional $186m in funding.

This brought the Series G round to $553m, having previously raised $367m.

Backers included new investors Wellington Management Company and Goldman Sachs as well as existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, FirstMark Capital, SV Angel, Valiant Capital Management and Fidelity Investments.

Co-founded in March 2010 by Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp and Paul Sciarra, Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool that allows users to discover and save creative ideas and be inspired by them in their daily lives. It is available on the Web, Android and iOS in 30+ languages.
The company has 500+ employees in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo and Sao Paulo. It is also hiring.
