DJI Raises $75m in Venture Capital Funding

djiDJI, a Palo Alto, CA-based developer of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology, raised $75m in venture capital funding.

Accel Partners made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate global adoption of its products and to extend its reach into new industrial applications.

Led by Frank Wang, CEO and founder, DJI develops and manufactures aerial robotics technology for commercial and recreational use. Applications include film, construction, inspection, nature conservation, fire fighting, agriculture, and other industries.
Over 3,000 people work in the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Beijing and Hong Kong.

According to a note, the details about the partnership between DJI and Accel will be announced in the coming weeks.
