Decorist, a San Francisco, CA-based interior design platform that connects users to personalized home design services, raised $4.5m in funding.
Backers included Lowe’s Companies, the Women’s Venture Capital Fund and angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its concierge design service offerings.
Led by Gretchen Hansen, founder and CEO, Decorist operates an interior design platform for people who want personalized assistance with their decorating decisions. It features a free “Ask a Designer” advice service and paid customized room makeovers. Customers visit the site and take a five minute style profile quiz. Decorist’s patent-pending algorithms and platform then match customers with an experienced designer who can leverage this knowledge to tailor a design solution to meet the personal tastes of each customer. Launched in 2014, the platform has more than 50,000 members.
