Canva, a Sydney, Australia-based online design platform, raised $6m in funding.
Backers included existing investors Matrix Partners, Shasta Ventures and Blackbird Ventures, as well as AirTree Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow operations. It is hiring.
Led by CEO and co-founder Melanie Perkins, Canva allows 2m users to create designs for Web or print including blog graphics, presentations, Facebook covers, flyers, posters, invitations, etc.
In addition to the funding, the company has just announced the launch (next month) of “Canva for Work“.
