Minube, a Madrid, Spain-based travel startup, secured €1.5m in funding.
The round was led by FIDES (FJME‘s investment branch) with participation from existing backers Kibo Ventures and Bonsai Venture Capital, which have been investors since 2013.
The company intends to use the funds to continue its international expansion and improve the website and iOS/Android apps.
Founded in 2007 by Raúl Jiménez, CEO, Minube operates a web and mobile platform that supports travelers before, during, and after their trips. It lets travelers find inspiration for their next vacation, plan their trip using reviews from real travelers, and book flights, hotels, and activities. Its recently launched a new app allows travelers to share photos and reviews of their entire trip in one place.
According to a note, the company currently has 1.3 million registered users who’ve shared over 700,000 reviews and over 2 million photos (users are currently sharing over 100,000 photos/month).
It currently employs of 40 young professionals.
