SlamAd Raises $1.25M in Seed Funding

slamadSlamAd, a NY-based adtech startup, recently closed a $1.25m seed round of funding.

Backers included unnamed strategic investors.

The company intends to use the proceeds to grow the team and to enhance the platform with entertainment, gaming, and mobile content.
The iOS version is expected to be launched this summer.

Led by Steven Brown, President and Co-Founder, and Mark Lehmann, CEO, SlamAd is developing a mobile texting application that integrates advertising. It uses patent-pending technology to include special offers or ads inside the messaging bubble, and rewards the user with points for each offer or ad seen. Advertisers can target mobile messages by keywords, real-time intent, location and behavior while users earn points and redeem them for gift cards from over 200 national stores, such as Game Stop, Amazon and Starbucks. Soon they will be able to redeem points for cash, donate to their favorite charity or save for college tuition.
