Shyp Secures $50M in Series B Funding

shypShyp, a San Francisco, CA-based shipping service, secured $50m in Series B funding.

The round, which brought total funding to $62.2m, was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers with participation from Homebrew, Sherpa Ventures, Kevin Rose and Jennifer Hyman, among others.

In conjunction with the deal, John Doerr, a general partner at KPCB, joined Shyp’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to expand the team (have a look here), further develop its product and feature suite and expand nationally.

Launched publicly in March 2015 by Kevin Gibbon, CEO, Shyp picks up items, packs, and sends
them anywhere aiming to use the most reliable option. The app is available for iOS and Android platform.

The service is live in NYC and Miami and just opened its official beta program in Los Angeles.
