Recorded Future, a Somerville, MA-based provider of a threat intelligence analytics platform, raised $12m in Series D round of financing.
The round was led by Reed Elsevier Ventures, with participation from MassMutual Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, and existing investors, Google Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Atlas, IA Ventures, and Balderton Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Kevin Brown, Reed Elsevier Ventures’ General Partner, will join Recorded Future’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Recorded Future provides a real-time threat intelligence analytics platform to financial institutions, technology companies, cyber security companies, MSSPs, and government agencies. The platform, powered by a patented Web Intelligence Engine which continuously analyzes the open Web, indexes billions of events to give users insight into emerging threats and proactively defend against cyber attacks.
