Maven Raises $2.2M in Funding

mavenMaven, a New York-based digital health clinic for women, raised $2.2m in funding.

Backers included Great Oaks Venture Capital, The Box Group, F Cubed, Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress, Susan Lyne, former CEO of Gilt Groupe, Thomas Lehrman, founder of Gerson Lehrman Group, and Brent Hoberman, founder of lastminute.com.

Led by Katherine Ryder, founder and CEO, Maven has just launched an iOS telemedicine app dedicated specifically to women offering video appointments with skilled and vetted health and wellness practitioners, including:
– Specialized physicians including OB/GYNs, pediatricians
– Nurse practitioners including women’s health, pediatric, and family nurse practitioners
– Pregnancy specialists including nurse-midwives, lactation consultants, and doulas
– Nutritionists
– Physical therapists including women’s health physical therapists
– Mental health providers including psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and licensed clinical social workers focused on maternal mental health

They currently offer wellness and anonymous appointments nationally, and medical appointments with e-prescribing capabilities in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Washington DC, and Maryland.
